Ways To Educate Yourself

Stay Informed

By using social media, and reading a variety of local news sources such as KHOU-11, the Houston Press, and the Houston Chronicle, you can stay informed about updating developments within Houston. Follow local political activists and independent journalists on social media as well in order to maintain a non-biased viewpoint on the condition of the city. Another great way to learn more about the issues of our city is to listen to the marginalized, and learn from them.

How You Can Help

By joining local organizations such as the Habitat for Humanity, the Houston Food Bank, the Red Cross, and Meals On Wheels hospitals in the Houston Medical Center, and political campaigns championing for these causes, you too can participate in aiding Houston's issues. Donating to the ACLU and the NAACP and political campaigns/activists are additional ways you can help if you lack the time or ability to do so. Finally, being an active part of your neighborhood is another way you can advocate for the voiceless.
